Lincoln Select Board signs Battle Road byway letter, extends tax deadline to June 1

LINCOLN — April 14, 2020 — Lincoln Select Board confronts Commons outbreak, signs scenic-byway letter, extends property-tax deadline. Board of Health member Trish Miller told the April 14 meeting that The Commons is standing up an internal COVID-19 isolation unit and that the board is urging full-facility testing of "probably over 500" residents and staff after two resident deaths and multiple positive staff cases over the weekend. Public Health Nurse Trish McGean reported 16 confirmed cases town-wide. Police Chief Kevin Kennedy briefed the board on an early-Sunday arrest in the Lexington Road area in which officers recovered two firearms, "a little more than $46,000" in cash and drugs packaged for distribution; both occupants were released on bail pending May 4 arraignment in Concord District Court. The board voted 3-0 to sign the Battle Road Scenic Byway Committee's All-American Road support letter and 3-0 each on two H.4617 provisions extending property-tax due dates to June 1 and waiving interest and penalties through June 30.
