Lincoln selectmen appoint Michael Sylvia as call firefighter

LINCOLN — July 13, 2015 — Lincoln selectmen confirm Aug. 10 MSBA school visit and appoint a call firefighter. The two-member Board of Selectmen, meeting without absent member Renel Fredrickson, voted 2-0 to appoint Lincoln resident Michael Sylvia — a Mass Maritime Academy graduate with Weston Fire Department experience — as a call firefighter on the recommendation of the fire chief. Town Administrator Tim Higgins said MSBA Executive Director Jack McCarthy will personally lead an "unofficial" tour of Lincoln schools on Aug. 10, arranged with help from state Rep. Tom Stanley. Selectman Peter Braun warned that recent correspondence from Arlington, Belmont and Sudbury was "quite negative" about the Minuteman building project, and called Route 2's stalled federal funding approval "total dead air." The Campus Master Planning Committee will interview three finalist consultants Thursday, with a contract recommendation expected July 30.
