Lincoln Selectmen award $271,781 paving contract, elevate Summer to ZBA
LINCOLN — April 8, 2013 — Lincoln Selectmen install Peter Braun as chair and award $271,781 spring paving contract. The board unanimously named Braun to succeed Noah Eckhouse, who praised his successor's commitment to "mutual respect, good faith and two-way dialogue." DPW Superintendent Chris Bibbo said the Mass. Broken Stone bid, low among 11 responses, came in well under his $430,000 estimate and will be paid from Chapter 90 funds covering Conant Road, Potter Brook Road, Stonehedge, Woods End Road and Woodcock Lane. Bibbo also flagged an $85,000 snow-and-ice deficit on a $222,000 budget. Selectmen elevated David Summer to a full ZBA seat, ratified six post-Town Meeting articles including a Verizon easement and a leaf-blower study, and agreed to seek a voluntary traffic discussion with the Teddy Bear Club child-care project at 239 Concord Road before invoking the town's curb-cut bylaw.
