Lincoln Selectmen elect Fredriksen chair, organize community center study committee

LINCOLN — April 10, 2014 — Lincoln Selectmen elect Fredriksen chair and begin organizing a $75,000 community center study. The board on April 10 unanimously rotated the chairmanship from Peter Braun to Renel Fredriksen and turned to post–town meeting action items led by Town Administrator Tim Higgins. Fredriksen floated a roughly nine-member study committee drawing from the Council on Aging, Parks and Rec, School Committee, Planning Board and Selectmen, with at-large seats; Braun pushed back, urging the board to "cast a wider net" and treat board representatives as liaisons. Noah Eckhouse volunteered to oversee the Bemis Hall basement project funded through Community Preservation, and Braun will represent Lincoln at a Needham-convened Minuteman meeting in Weston after town meeting voted to pass over proposed agreement amendments. The board also approved Feb. 24 and March 10 minutes.
