Lincoln sets Special Town Meeting for Saturday
The Town of Lincoln announced its State of the Town session and Special Town Meeting will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, where new Moderator Andy Payne will convene a vote on two options for the Library HVAC System Replacement Project.
The Town of Lincoln announced Oct. 21 that its State of the Town session and Special Town Meeting will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, with doors opening at 8 a.m. for voter check-in.
The State of the Town portion begins at 9 a.m. and runs 45 minutes, with updates on the Open Space Planning Process, a communications update, the Community Center Building Committee including the Bemis Hall Reuse Plan, the Finance Committee, the Lincoln and Lincoln-Sudbury School Committees, the Water Main Replacement Project, and the town's Pavement Improvement Plans.
At 9:45 a.m., the town will hold an informational session on the Library HVAC System Replacement Project. At 10:30 a.m., new Moderator Andy Payne will convene the Special Town Meeting to discuss and vote on that project. The warrant presents two options: a ground source heat pump system or a high-efficiency gas system.
The town is again using electronic voting "clickers," which residents receive at check-in. Each clicker may be used only by the person checked in with it, and voters must be present in the room to vote. Residents who need to leave and return can trade their clicker for a "clicker card" at an attendant station.
Parking and auditorium seating maps are posted on the town's Annual Town Meeting web page, which also includes a frequently asked questions document and technical background materials on the HVAC project. The meeting will be broadcast for viewing only in the school gym, though voting and comment require being in the auditorium. It will also air on Comcast Channel 8, Verizon Channel 33 and the town website.
Accessibility services include reserved parking near the entrance, public safety staff to assist, and assisted listening devices available from AV staff at the auditorium console. The town said free snacks will be served, but not coffee this year.
