Select Board delegates 8 Oak Knoll dangerous-dog hearing to town administrator

LINCOLN — August 16, 2024 — Lincoln Select Board sends 8 Oak Knoll dangerous-dog case to town administrator. The board voted 3-0 Friday to authorize Town Administrator Tim Higgins to serve as hearings officer on a complaint involving dogs that the animal control officer says have continued to "exhibit aggressive behaviors" despite containment efforts. The hearing will determine whether the animals are nuisance or dangerous under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140, Sections 136A and 157. Member Jennifer Glass disclosed prior trail dog bites and said she would have to recuse if the board heard the case directly. The delegation is limited to this incident, Chair Kim Bodnar confirmed. The board also approved the Sept. 3 state primary warrant 3-0, with Glass questioning why warrant approval still follows mail-in ballot distribution by roughly two weeks.
