Selectmen approve deCordova beer and wine license with strict service conditions

LINCOLN — September 28, 2015 — Lincoln selectmen license deCordova cafe and promote two DPW supervisors. The Board of Selectmen on Monday unanimously approved a beer and wine license for the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, attaching four conditions: noon-to-close service hours, no alcohol without food, mandatory server training, and a requirement that staff open every container before service. Deputy Director for Operations David Duddy called the conditions "not an onerous burden." Chair Noah Eckhaus said Lincoln, which has issued liquor licenses only "in the last six years," prefers to "start in a very managed way." The board also unanimously promoted Steve McDonald to DPW foreman and Jim Durgin to crew chief on Superintendent Chris Bibbo's recommendation, set a 1.3 commercial tax factor and declined three exemptions, and approved a Local Initiative Program affordable-housing agreement for 26 Lewis Street restricting two rental units as affordable.
