Selectmen interview four boards as annual reappointments approach

LINCOLN — May 23, 2011 — Lincoln Selectmen interview four committees and brace for a $36M–$67M school decision. The Board of Selectmen on May 23 met with the Pierce House Committee, Historical Commission, Historic District Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals on annual reappointments, then turned to substantive updates. Selectman Peter Braun said the 11 school feasibility options range from roughly $36 million to $67 million, with state reimbursement of 40–45 percent; the high-end options would add $2 million to $2.5 million in annual debt service on top of the town's existing $2.1 million, while a $36 million renovation would add $1.2 million to $1.5 million. Town Administrator Tim Higgins said Hollingsworth property bids could open in August, with a 5,000-square-foot living-area cap and tear-down explicitly allowed. The board voted unanimously to accept a Codman Community Farms dinner invitation.
