LINCOLN — The Hanscom Field Advisory Commission pressed Massport for details on detainee-flight safety after video showed a man in apparent distress boarding an ICE charter. Chair Margaret Coppe presided as members voted 4-0 to approve September minutes, with the August minutes held over at Barbara Katzenberg's request. A Massport liaison identified only as Amber said "Massport fire and rescue is trained and equipped to respond to emergencies of all types at all three of our airports," but Katzenberg pressed for specifics on training for shackled passengers.
Member Christopher Eliot said charter operators have used 55-seat Embraer aircraft and stayed under the commission's 60-seat cap since August. Members agreed to send the FAA a letter backing an earlier congressional letter signed by 39 lawmakers, copying Representatives Lori Trahan and Seth Moulton. The commission also renewed its search for members to fill long-vacant business- and general-aviation seats.
