Hanscom panel drafts motions for ICE flight webcams, observers

LINCOLN — Hanscom advisory panel presses Massport on ICE deportation flights, sets August vote on webcams. Coalition spokesperson Todd Palmer told the Hanscom Field Advisory Commission his group has tracked 95 Eastern Air Express flights, 17 CSI Aviation flights and two Key Lime Air flights carrying detainees since October, with June logging an all-time high of 15 flights. Member Christopher Eliot drafted motions asking Massport to allow independent observers and install public webcams at boarding areas, but neither was seconded amid concerns over public-versus-private property wording.

Member Barbara Katzenberg called the situation "just infuriating," while Boston resident Elizabeth America said a petition to Governor Healey has drawn "over 550" signatures. Separately, Massport presented early plans for two solar arrays totaling roughly six megawatts near Virginia and Old Bedford roads. The commission approved its June minutes 4-0 and scheduled a special meeting for August 11 to vote on the ICE-related motions.
