Hanscom panel votes unanimously to press Massport on ICE flights

LINCOLN — Hanscom Field Advisory Commission presses Massport on ICE flights, floats a public webcam. The commission voted 6-0 to send Massport Deputy Chief Legal Counsel Michelle Kalowski a letter, drafted by members Terri Ackerman and Terrence Parker, saying months of meetings "did not lead to more concrete progress" on community concerns. Member Christopher Eliot proposed a public webcam outside Hangar One modeled on one at Seattle's Boeing Field, saying "it doesn't obstruct ICE" and "doesn't cost anything," while member Tom Hirsh warned "there could be some privacy issues." Massport's Amber Goodspeed reported 229 noise complaints from 20 households in May and confirmed the state's new sustainable aviation fuel tax credit — $10 million a year for three years — was signed into law the day before the meeting.

Bedford resident Jennifer Boles and Brookline's Abby Cox, who described a December ICE raid near her home, also addressed the commission during public comment.
