Lincoln Select Board defers Town Meeting decision, approves prior minutes

LINCOLN — April 27, 2020 — Lincoln Select Board mourns town administrator's father and logs 26th COVID-19 case. Chair Jennifer Glass opened the April 27 remote meeting with condolences for Town Administrator Tim Higgins, whose father died Saturday of COVID-19 complications. Public Health Nurse Tricia McGeehan reported 26 confirmed Lincoln cases, up one from the prior week, with four deaths — all residents of The Commons in Lincoln — and five residents currently hospitalized. McGeehan said The Commons has begun facility-wide testing through Mount Auburn Hospital, starting with skilled nursing and extending to assisted living and full staff. "It's not time to let your guard down," she told residents. The board deferred its Town Meeting and election discussion to May 4, awaiting word on whether Gov. Baker extends the state of emergency, and voted 3-0 to approve April 20 minutes.
