Lincoln Select Board postpones Town Meeting to May 30, election to June 1

LINCOLN — April 6, 2020 — Lincoln delays Town Meeting to May 30 target and election to June 1 over COVID. The Select Board voted 3-0 Monday to urge Town Moderator Sarah Cannon Holden to use her maximum 30-day postponement under Chapter 53 of the Acts of 2020; Holden declared the April 25 meeting moved to May 23, with a second declaration planned to reach the actual target of May 30. The board separately voted 3-0 to postpone the annual town election to June 1. Public Health Nurse Trish McGeehan reported eight lab-confirmed resident cases, five discharged, with 16 cases in-house at Emerson Hospital. Town Administrator Tim Higgins said Lincoln received a second $2,500 installment from the state DPH and is in talks with the Codman Trust about a flexible COVID fund. Member James Craig pressed for clarity on the school building project's June 30 occupancy deadline, warning, "we need some sort of an answer soon."
