Planning Board approves two re-roofing certificates in first virtual meeting

LINCOLN — April 7, 2020 — Lincoln Planning Board issues two re-roofing certificates in first virtual meeting under emergency order. Meeting remotely on April 7 under Gov. Charlie Baker's executive order, the board unanimously approved certificates of non-applicability for the parsonage at 14 Bedford Road and a center-chimney colonial at 37 Lincoln Road, both to be re-roofed with architectural-style shingles replacing existing asphalt. Members then voted unanimously to adopt virtual sessions as standing practice for certificates of non-applicability during the shutdown. Member Chris pressed for tighter documentation online, and a colleague said it "would have been good in both of these if we had clearer information on precisely what was there presently." The chair confirmed no members of the public attended the Zoom session, which staff posts with the agenda. One member offered to drop a CertainTeed Landmark Designer Series shingle sample at town hall as a reference standard once the quarantine lifts.
