Planning Board approves Lincoln Community Center site plan and aquifer-district special permit

LINCOLN — April 8, 2025 — Lincoln Planning Board approves Community Center site plan; defers Plout driveway-and-restoration vote to April 22. The board on April 8 unanimously issued site-plan, stormwater and aquifer-district special-permit approvals for the new 20,200-square-foot Community Center on Ball Field Road, replacing the existing pods and adding a new pedestrian bridge over Stony Brook. Assistant Director Jennifer Hurtin said the project meets every dimensional standard and will reduce parking only from 134 to 132 spaces against a 98-space requirement. Exterior lighting will use 2700K fixtures with motion sensors. The Plout hearing at 0 Old Winter Road — a single-house driveway paired with removal of about 137 trees and a native-species restoration the applicants said will cost "seven digits" — continued to April 22 after new member Susan Hall Mygatt argued the scope exceeded the bylaw and resident Barbara warned the board it was "setting precedent" on undeveloped land. Timothy Plout told the board the family would "withdraw and sell to a developer who will build three houses" rather than scale back.
