Planning Board endorses Lincoln Station-to-Codman multimodal path

LINCOLN — November 10, 2020 — Lincoln Planning Board endorses Complete Streets path and clears two residential projects. The board voted 4-0 on Nov. 10 to support a MassDOT-funded multimodal path from Lincoln Station to Codman Farm, designed by Ken Bassett with engineering by John Vancourt and extended to a July 1, 2021 deadline because of COVID-19. Town Planner Paula Vaughn-MacKenzie said the six-foot ADA-compliant route runs in front of Doherty's Garage because a rear alignment hits wetlands and a Tennessee Gas easement. The board also approved a 24-by-46-foot repurposed antique barn at 18 Baker Bridge Road and a 15-foot garage extension at 161 Tower Road. A 5-0 favorable recommendation went to the ZBA for an accessory apartment at 12 Western Road over the objection of abutters David Jacobs and Louisa Killiam, who said dormers and windows roughly 50 feet from their pool would erase a "paradise." Member Margaret Olson said "screening is our usual solution."
