Planning Board recommends 58 Tower Road accessory apartment, reduces SLPAC to four members

LINCOLN — August 11, 2020 — Lincoln Planning Board recommends Tower Road accessory apartment and trims advisory committee. The board on Aug. 11 sent a positive recommendation to the Zoning Board of Appeals for an 806-square-foot accessory apartment at 58 Tower Road, where owner Ellen Morgan will live after selling the 2.2-acre property to her son and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Catherine Bosch. Member Margaret Olson said the unit, placed entirely within the 1913 footprint, is 20 percent of combined floor area, well below the 1,200-square-foot cap. The recommendation is conditioned on Board of Health approval of a five-bedroom septic system and bylaw-compliant exterior lighting. The board also voted to reduce the South Lincoln Planning Advisory Committee from five members to four after the Finance Committee declined a seat, with Co-Chair Gary Taylor warning that designating South Lincoln resident seats would be a "slippery slope."
