Community Center Building Committee · Meeting of October 21, 2026
Lincoln's Community Center Building Committee approved two contract changes and declined to set a firm opening date. The committee voted unanimously to spend $6,922 integrating the community center's paging system with the elementary school's, allowing campus-wide emergency announcements, and to return $31,617 in ledge-blasting savings to the project's construction contingency. Owner's Project Manager Ksenia Slavsky said the project is 60 percent billed, with $15.7 million invoiced and a $915,000 contingency remaining.
She said she "would not announce opening any earlier than February 1," while Assistant Town Administrator Daniel Pereira favored telling residents March 1. Members ultimately agreed to tell the public only that the center is "hoping for the spring," citing contractor Hutter Construction's "complete inability to hold a schedule." The Friends of the Council on Aging donated $70,000 for additional furniture.
