Lincoln School Committee authorizes new METCO transport bid, approves superintendent raise negotiations

LINCOLN — February 4, 2016 — Lincoln School Committee unanimously backs new METCO transportation bid and superintendent salary talks. The committee voted at its February 4 meeting to authorize Chair Alex Mercer to enter a new bid agreement with METCO, Inc. for Boston student busing, with Administrator for Business and Finance Buck Creel warning that the state's fixed transportation grant of approximately $161,400 is under pressure from rising driver costs. The board also voted unanimously that Superintendent Becky McFall's performance warrants entering annual salary increase negotiations, with committee member Jennifer Glass saying the district's strategic plan is "beginning to penetrate down into the everyday inner workings of the district." The committee approved warrants totaling $901,653.22 and endorsed a capital warrant for E-rate matching funds to upgrade wireless access points at the Lincoln School. Interim Administrator for Student Services Linda Chase reported the district earned full compliance on its state mid-cycle special education review, with state reviewers commending the quality of IEP writing, a result Chase called "an accomplishment that is not found in many places."
