Planning Board approves Fairhaven Bay pickleball court with lighting and screening conditions

LINCOLN — April 12, 2022 — Lincoln Planning Board approves Fairhaven Bay pickleball court and defers chair election. The board voted 5-0 on April 12 to approve a major site-plan modification at 263 Old Concord Road adding a 1,486-square-foot warming hut, an 1,868-square-foot paddle tennis court and a 1,624-square-foot patio, conditioned on use-only landscape lighting, standard generator-exercise hours, and a screening agreement with abutter Heather McCune of 262 Old Concord Road. Co-Chair Margaret Olson said the board would referee if applicant Mark Curley and McCune could not agree. Abutter Susan Hall Mygatt, who recused as a board member, said negotiations had already reduced exterior fixtures from 88 to 18. Co-Chair Gary Taylor nominated Olson but argued for rotating leadership, calling it a move to "universalize our recommendations." The board deferred the vote and scheduled an in-person working meeting April 19 in the Donaldson Room. Members also approved a five-year extension of the Carroll School modular health center and signage for Lincoln Dog Training in the former Clark Gallery space.
