Planning Board approves six-foot fence at 94 Mill Street

LINCOLN — October 11, 2022 — Lincoln Planning Board approves contested Mill Street fence and picks its MBTA Communities representative. The board voted 5-0 on Oct. 11 to approve a six-foot stone-gabion-and-wood fence at 94 Mill Street, with a non-binding hope it be finished within three years; the absent owner is out of the country. Town Planner Paula Vaughn confirmed the fence sits 10 feet from the pavement edge and complies with the bylaw's "harmonious" standard. Neighbors Tina Grodzer and Jackie Absler told the board the louder issue was commercial tree-chipping on the property — now subject to a building-inspector cease-and-desist letter against a tenant tree-service company renting the driveway. In a separate unanimous vote, the board named Gary Taylor as its single representative to a Select Board working group preparing Lincoln's response to the state Housing Choice Act, with an interim compliance form due to DHCD by Jan. 31. Chair Robert Domnitz warned against "overselling the importance of the housing choice act."
