Planning Board orders Beaver Pond Road owners to restore driveway or apply for curb cut

LINCOLN — April 30, 2024 — Lincoln Planning Board gives 30 Beaver Pond Road owners 90 days to restore an unpermitted driveway or file a curb cut application. The board voted unanimously to direct the building inspector to enforce removal of a temporary construction access cut in the fall of 2018 for Alan and Stephanie VanderMeulen's barn, which the owners never restored after planning a larger renovation that they have since abandoned in favor of a move to Wayland. Chair Margaret Olson made the motion; Co-Chair Lynn DeLisi seconded. Co-Chair Gary Taylor, who lives on Beaver Pond Road, said he was "caught in the middle" because removing the access would leave the barn unconnected to the shared driveway. A direct abutter told the board five driveways now converge on the curve and that she first raised safety concerns in an April 30, 2019 letter to staff. The board also delayed a vote on its draft meeting management policy after residents said the draft was posted hours before the comment deadline.
