Planning Board weighs South Lincoln rezoning scope and septic capacity

LINCOLN — October 27, 2020 — Lincoln Planning Board confronts septic limits and scope dispute on South Lincoln rezoning. Co-Chair Gary Taylor reported the South Lincoln Planning Advisory Committee subcommittee split three ways on geographic scope, with the Housing Commission's Alan Vander Mollen pushing for broad coverage, the Select Board's James Craig pressing to limit rezoning to the mall side of Lincoln Road, and Taylor proposing a middle position that includes Lincoln Woods and the mall but excludes the Flying Nuns and Greenridge condos. A decade-old study found the private TCB-operated treatment plant's single-wall steel tanks were already "past their life expectancy" then. "The government's not going to build this project," member Bob Domnitz said, urging private-sector outreach. The board unanimously approved Oct. 13 minutes and will fold public input on scope into its Nov. 19 State of the Town presentation.
