Hanscom panel votes 5-0 to send Healey letter on ICE flights

Hanscom Field Advisory Commission · Meeting of May 19, 2026

LINCOLN — Hanscom Field Advisory Commission votes 5-0 to ask Gov. Healey to press Massport on ICE flight oversight. Chair Margaret Coppe's panel called Massport's legal response on passenger screening "sterile," with member Christopher Eliot saying "if they could just get up... and say, hey, we condemn these deportations," it would help.

Massport's Amber Goodspeed, target of a prior Gestapo comparison from a member, said she'd "sympathize with you on a monthly basis for the past 13 years." Separately, Massport project managers Stephen Flecchia and Eli Bahrevar outlined a 41-day and 21-day Taxiway Echo rehab starting in August, closing Runway 11-29 for five weekends and generating roughly 1,000 truckloads on the west side alone, plus about 600 on the east side. April 2026 flight operations rose 9.8 percent year over year, with noise complaints up to 144 reports from 127.
