Lincoln Select Board reinstates Police Chief Kennedy after nine-month probe. The board confirmed Chief Sean Kennedy's return following an independent investigation and a state Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission review of a May 2025 off-duty incident, with the board saying his conduct "did not violate policy, procedures, rules, or regulations of the town." The board also voted 3-0 to sign the warrant for the October 24 Special Town Meeting, where voters choose between a $6.246 million ground-source heat pump for the library, netting $3.696 million after incentives, or a $3.282 million conventional system. Resident Paul Sheldman argued the pricing comparison is misleading, saying for "$3.3 million, I can scrub everything I've got in the house right now." The board also appointed Chris Brookens as a full-time firefighter, replacing 40-year veteran Joe Kavanaugh.
