Community Center Building Committee · Meeting of May 20, 2026
Lincoln Community Center Building Committee approves $323,000 in cost increases as project runs four months late. Owner's project manager Ksenia Slovsky told the panel substantial completion has slipped to December 14, against an original contract obligation of October 6, with $1,000-per-day liquidated damages now in force. The committee unanimously authorized a $23,187 change order to fix a structural design gap at the LEAP canopy, a $10,108 change order for skylight sprinkler modifications, and a $1,669 kitchen plumbing change order.
It also approved procurement budgets of up to $335,000 for playground and site amenities and $176,000 for IT and audio-visual systems, drawing a combined $288,940 from contingency. Slovsky said the town has "been repeating these things weekly, ad nauseam, for many, many months" in pushing the contractor to recover lost time, with roughly $1.1 million, or 64 percent, of contingency remaining.
