Lincoln School Committee accepts $3,176 in gifts, approves goals and subcommittee assignments

LINCOLN — October 5, 2023 — Lincoln honors retiring business chief with state award as food service participation jumps. The School Committee on Oct. 5 accepted a $1,000 gift from Boston Business Technology tied to Administrator for Business and Finance Mary Ellen Norman's MASBO President's Award, presented in person by past president Diane Johnson, who called Norman "a go-to person for new school business administrators." The committee also accepted a $2,176 gift from former member Tringe Nazo for a bench honoring retired educator Dr. Hobbs. New Food Service Director Kelly Haley reported September lunch participation at 52 percent in Lincoln and 74 percent at Hanscom, with adult meals at $4 and a $4.38 state-and-federal reimbursement per lunch. Superintendent Graham said Norman will retire at the end of September 2024 and outlined a hiring timeline running through February. METCO Representative Kim Mack pressed Graham on Boston bus 9, which she said has skipped stops; Graham apologized, saying "I'm frustrated that this has not been resolved yet."
