Lincoln School Committee approves FY26 budget timeline, dissolves Building Committee

LINCOLN — October 10, 2024 — Lincoln School Committee moves FY26 budget hearing into December and dissolves the Lincoln School Building Committee. On Oct. 10 the committee voted unanimously to amend its FY26 budget timeline, shifting the public hearing from Jan. 16 to Dec. 19 after METCO Representative Kim Mack argued the original date left no room for input to shape the proposal and risked being "performative." Superintendent Parry Graham backed the Dec. 19 date over Dec. 12, saying "some of the really meaty conversation can happen" at the second working meeting. Members also accepted a Lincoln School Foundation out-of-cycle grant funding a three-hour archaeological dig for three fourth-grade classes, approved 2024-25 committee goals and subcommittee liaisons, and dissolved the Lincoln School Building Committee. Oct. 1 enrollment came in at 549 at Lincoln (up one) and 522 at Hanscom (flat), with Hanscom preschool dropping from 77 to 63.
