Lincoln School Committee adopts 2024-2028 strategic plan with one abstention
LINCOLN — September 19, 2024 — Lincoln School Committee adopts 2024-2028 strategic plan with one abstention over equity staffing. The committee voted 5-0-1 on Sept. 19 to approve Superintendent Perry Graham's long-term plan, with METCO Representative Kim Mack abstaining because the plan threads anti-bias and equity work across multiple focus areas without a dedicated staff lead. Mack, who serves as vice chair, called the plan strong but said Graham, Assistant Superintendent Torrance Lewis and METCO Director Marika Hamilton are "stretched pretty thin," and reminded colleagues the committee had declined to fund a director-of-equity position in the prior budget. Graham said the administration is exploring building-level equity teams funded with prior-year discretionary money. The committee also approved the FY25 district improvement plan on the same split, approved Graham's annual goals unanimously, and approved an FY26 capital article submission due Sept. 27. A formal budget vote is targeted for Jan. 23.
