Lincoln School Committee declines school choice, sets graduation dates, orders incoming-superintendent audit

LINCOLN — March 23, 2023 — Lincoln School Committee bids farewell to outgoing chair, executes incoming superintendent contract, orders audit. Chair Tara Mitchell, not seeking reelection, announced the fully executed contract with incoming Superintendent Parry Graham and directed Business Administrator Mary Ellen to scope a "full and thorough financial audit" for late April. The committee voted 5-0 (with Hanscom Representative Laurel Wironen and METCO Representative Kim Mack concurring) to decline school choice for 2023-24, with Superintendent Becky McFall citing the $5,000 per-pupil state reimbursement as inadequate to Lincoln's costs. Members set Hanscom Middle School graduation for June 20 and Lincoln School grade 8 graduation for June 21, approved a four-day summer workweek for full-year employees, and approved warrants totaling $1,662,190.96. METCO has received applications from six families for eight students against a 91-student cap. Member Adam Hogue was also recognized after six years, his term ending with Monday's town election.
