Lincoln School Committee directs FY25 budget toward Hanscom assistant principal only

LINCOLN — January 11, 2024 — Lincoln School Committee directs FY25 budget toward scenario dropping IDEA director and Lincoln assistant principal. At a Jan. 11 meeting, the committee informally guided Superintendent Parry Graham toward a budget that funds only a second Hanscom assistant principal, keeps Lincoln base spending at the Finance Committee's 2.5 percent guidance, and folds in roughly $79,000 of one-time and pilot items including a first-grade Fundations phonics rollout and expanded field-trip funding. METCO Representative Kim Mack dissented sharply, calling prior equity work "performative" and saying she "cannot keep putting it off." Member Susan Taylor said she was "not ready to add administrative staff" without more of Graham's entry plan findings, due this spring. The Hanscom side still projects roughly $700,000 over its $18.4 million federal contract. A formal budget vote is set for Jan. 25.
