Lincoln School Committee ratifies first paraprofessional contract and FY22 strategic plan

LINCOLN — June 17, 2021 — Lincoln School Committee closes out pandemic year with first ESP contract, equity-focused strategic plan and proficient evaluation for the superintendent. Members unanimously ratified an inaugural three-year contract with the Education Support Professionals, adopted a 2021-2022 strategic plan committing the district to "uproot and disrupt explicit, implicit and systemic racism" based on a recently completed equity audit, and rated Superintendent Becky McFall proficient. Chair Tara noted Lincoln was among the 3 percent of Massachusetts districts that opened in person and did not close again. The committee also approved prepaying $226,753 in FY22 special education tuition, up to $100,000 in new-building furniture, returning at least $150,000 to the town, and transferring $400,000 from the Hanscom Health Insurance Reserve Fund to the town's OPEB fund — bringing Hanscom's liability to roughly 47.4 percent funded. Outgoing Administrator for Business and Finance Buckner Creel reported about $484,000 in unspent Lincoln balances.
