Lincoln School Committee ratifies first paraprofessional contract and FY22 strategic plan

LINCOLN -- June 17, 2021, Lincoln School Committee closes out pandemic year with first ESP contract, equity-focused strategic plan and proficient evaluation for the superintendent. Members unanimously ratified an inaugural three-year contract with the Education Support Professionals, adopted a 2021-2022 strategic plan committing the district to "uproot and disrupt explicit, implicit and systemic racism" based on a recently completed equity audit, and rated Superintendent Becky McFall proficient. Chair Tara noted Lincoln was among the 3 percent of Massachusetts districts that opened in person and did not close again. The committee also approved prepaying $226,753 in FY22 special education tuition, up to $100,000 in new-building furniture, returning at least $150,000 to the town, and transferring $400,000 from the Hanscom Health Insurance Reserve Fund to the town's OPEB fund, bringing Hanscom's liability to roughly 47.4 percent funded. Outgoing Administrator for Business and Finance Buckner Creel reported about $484,000 in unspent Lincoln balances.
