Lincoln Select Board appoints two police officers, fills three committee seats

LINCOLN — July 28, 2025 — Lincoln Select Board fills five seats and tightens CPA rules in a packed July 28 meeting. The board unanimously appointed Aiden Hawley and Owen Hughes as patrol officers on the recommendation of Acting Police Chief John Wentworth, drawn from a 17-candidate process; both report to the Boylston Police Academy Aug. 25. Members voted 3-0 to expand the Roadway and Traffic Committee from six to seven and appoint both candidates interviewed — Sharon Polora and Robert Siluri — after longtime chair Ken Bassett stepped down from the chairmanship. Ross Tucker, an attorney, was appointed to the Conservation Commission over Elizabeth Orgel and Greta Eckhart. The board approved the Pierce House Committee's fiscal 2026 budget, with the trust's expendable balance at roughly $475,000, and amended the CPA policy for private nonprofits to require at least 10 percent applicant match and a written public-benefit plan. Kim Bodnar said "the benefit should be as long-lasting as the capital improvement."
