Lincoln School Committee accepts superintendent profile, seats 15-member screening panel

LINCOLN — November 17, 2022 — Lincoln School Committee accepts superintendent profile and names 15-member screening panel. Consultant John walked the board through findings from eight focus groups and an online survey yielding 363 data points, with anti-racism, inclusion, diversity and equity work emerging as the top priority alongside communication and a commitment to challenging all students. "The next superintendent has to be able to come in, to feel very comfortable, and more than seeing this as an operational responsibility, have it as a forefront," he said. Member Tara Mitchell presented the screening slate drawn from more than 30 applicants, including Director of Educational Operations Rob Ford, METCO Director Marinka Hamilton and Hanscom Middle Principal Eric Leber. The panel will recommend up to five finalists by Jan. 12; finalists visit schools the week of Jan. 23. Superintendent Becky McFall also reported the district serves 115 students on IEPs across both campuses.
