Lincoln School Committee adopts superintendent search timeline, sets February decision
LINCOLN — October 3, 2022 — Lincoln School Committee adopts superintendent search timeline aiming for a Feb. 9 hire. Consultant John Brackett of the UMass Boston Edward J. Collins Center walked members through the process to replace retiring Superintendent Becky McFall, with the vacancy posted through Nov. 28 and screening interviews set for Jan. 9-11. The committee unanimously approved the timeline after extending the community survey close from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30. Brackett recommended a 12-to-14-member screening subcommittee — two School Committee members, three teachers, three parents, two administrators, one staff member, plus Hanscom and at-large seats — meeting in executive session to protect applicant confidentiality. METCO Representative Kim Mack pressed for stronger outreach to candidates of color, calling the search "an excellent way for us to start changing" Lincoln's faculty diversity. A community profile is due Nov. 17.
