Lincoln School Committee approves $400,000 Hanscom OPEB transfer and LEAP lease renewal

LINCOLN — May 18, 2023 — Lincoln School Committee approves $400,000 Hanscom OPEB transfer and renews LEAP license at $33,750. The unanimous roll-call vote on the GASB 45 transfer included $200,000 already budgeted plus a $200,000 add, business administrator Mary Ellen Bilodeau told the committee, which will close fiscal 2023 in a positive balance. The Lincoln Extended Day Activities Program license for POD-C was extended through June 2024 after edits broadening a displacement clause from "major public school building" projects to any "major construction project requiring relocation" — member Susan Taylor noting "a tree could fall again." Outgoing Superintendent Becky McFall said the district has paused work on locally combined SEL and anti-racism standards pending forthcoming DESE guidance: "We have a long way to go." Assistant Superintendent Jess Rose reported staff pulse checks averaged 69 percent response across roughly 250 employees with "tired" the most common one-word descriptor every month. The committee also appointed incoming Superintendent Perry Graham to the Concord Area Special Education Collaborative board.
