Lincoln School Committee approves fiscal 2015 budget guidelines, awards Hanscom snow contract

LINCOLN — September 12, 2013 — Lincoln School Committee opens year with stable enrollment, $228,900 returned to town and PARCC pilot ahead. Assistant Superintendent Carrie Sterling reported 69 kindergartners on the Lincoln campus against a projected 59, and 82 at Hanscom, where 121 new families have enrolled and the district sits four students short of a contract enrollment band worth roughly $400,000 in additional DODEA funding. Administrator for Business and Finance Buck Creel attributed the Lincoln campus turn-back to $123,518 in prior-year pre-purchases, $46,000 in unanticipated grant funding and $67,000 in out-of-district tuition savings; the Hanscom turn-back reflected an unused $136,000 DODEA change order and $114,000 in unspent benefits. The committee approved fiscal 2015 budget guidelines, a no-cost-increase snow removal contract with Delfino, and accepted two defibrillators from the Ryan estate before adjourning to executive session on the Horner litigation.
