Lincoln School Committee forms citizens advisory subcommittee on school building

LINCOLN — May 16, 2013 — Lincoln School Committee forms 12-member citizens advisory panel to map school-building options. The subcommittee, voted unanimously May 16, will identify two to five concrete project pathways by October while the town awaits a January MSBA decision on its April statement of interest. Four seats go to former school building committee members, four to residents with architecture or construction experience, and four through the town moderator; Select Board, Finance Committee and Capital Planning Committee members are excluded but will be briefed. Incoming Director of Technology Rob Ford reported that 56 percent of faculty find the district network unreliable and pegged short-term network fixes at "$100,000 to $200,000." The committee also accepted the Hanscom Primary MSBA audit, which disallowed $4,069 and reduced town reimbursement by $1,441.24, and approved warrants totaling $838,183.68.
