Lincoln Select Board moves toward temporary license for Doherty's EV charging hookup

LINCOLN — November 17, 2025 — Lincoln Select Board backs interim license to keep $300K EV charger project on schedule. The board on Nov. 17 directed Town Administrator Tim Higgins to have town counsel draft a temporary license agreement allowing Doherty's Garage to connect to a town-owned transformer at the commuter lot, since the required easement can only be granted at March town meeting. Highland Electric Fleets project manager Reed McIntyre said construction runs through December with Eversource energization targeted for early January to meet a Mass Clean Energy Center vehicle-to-grid grant deadline. "The reward of having successful projects of this impact is totally good for that risk," McIntyre said. Higgins also reported Lincoln has been designated a Climate Leader Community, bringing $1 million expected for library HVAC, and that the town's Subsidized Housing Inventory rose to 12.83 percent in the state's 2025 update.
