Lincoln Select Board promotes Sean Kennedy to police chief in 3-0 vote

LINCOLN — June 17, 2024 — Lincoln promotes Sean Kennedy to police chief and clears Community Center contracts in packed June 17 meeting. The Select Board voted 3-0 to promote Acting Chief Kennedy after a six-month trial period, with Town Administrator Tim Higgins recommending him "without reservation" and citing his handling of department turnover and regional partnerships. The board also unanimously authorized contract negotiations with Anser Advisory as owner's project manager, authorized Higgins to sign the ICON Architecture designer contract at roughly 8 to 8.5 percent of construction costs, and approved a naming plan dedicating the central meeting space to the Desai family and an outdoor terrace to longtime resident Dilla Tingley. "It isn't meant to be an honor, it's meant to be a footprint," Tingley told the board. The board separately signed a no-cost letter of intent to study regional dispatch and appointed three new call firefighters.
