Lincoln Select Board accepts Climate Action Plan and welcomes $500,000 Codman gift
LINCOLN — February 5, 2023 — Lincoln accepts climate plan, banks $500,000 Codman gift for community center. The Select Board voted 3-0 Monday to accept the Feb. 1, 2024 Climate Action Plan, presented by Assistant Director of Planning and Land Use Jennifer Curtin and funded by a $100,000 MVP Action Grant. Ogden Codman Trust trustees Susan Monahan, Mike O'Connell and Stacey Kaczynski announced a $500,000 grant to the proposed community center project, payable $250,000 in the first 12 months and the balance over three years. Town Administrator Tim Higgins said the payout aligns with the town's bonding strategy. Residents pressed the board on a 110-signature letter requesting a "massing study" to visualize Housing Choice Act build-out; Planning Board Chair Margaret Olson called it "wild speculation" without an actual plan. The FY25 town operating budget is up 1.7 percent overall, with $138,000 in preferred items approved by the Finance Committee.
