Lincoln Select Board appoints Friedman, Cass to historical commissions

LINCOLN — April 28, 2025 — Lincoln Select Board fills historical commission seats and braces for a complicated June Special Town Meeting. The board on April 28 unanimously appointed real estate lawyer and architect Joel Friedman as a full member of the joint historical commissions, Brownswood resident Jason Cass as an alternate, and let architect Gary Anderson step down from his full seat into an alternate role; applicants Catherine Corbin and Bjorn Slate were not appointed. Town Administrator Tim Higgins told members the June 25 Special Town Meeting could carry up to five warrant articles, including three for the Rural Land Foundation's 20-unit Panetta project — "we're not spending any town money on the housing component," he said — plus a Finance Committee reserve fund transfer and a contingent community center article tied to May 29 bid opening. The project carries roughly $1.5 million, about 8 percent, in contingency. The board also unanimously appointed Ainsley Woodruff as a full-time E911 dispatcher and moved its June 9 meeting to June 2 to preserve runway for a possible debt exclusion ballot.
