Lincoln Select Board approves committee slate and triathlon road closure
LINCOLN — May 8, 2023 — Lincoln Select Board approves annual appointments slate and June 24 triathlon road closure. The board unanimously approved the amended slate, adding David Onigman to Parks and Recreation and Rick Rundell to the Cultural Council, and authorized closing the road between the five-way stop and Ballfield Road from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. for the kids triathlon. Town Administrator Tim Higgins reported the town has signed a 24-month Green Energy Choice contract with incumbent First Point that raises the annual renewable energy certificate increase from 4 percent to 6 percent. Chair Jim Hutchinson said the Community Center Building Committee will present 50, 75 and 100 percent concept options at a June public forum; member Jennifer Glass pressed that "the 50% option better do a good job" of reusing existing buildings, with pod renovations alone estimated at $2 million each. Member Kim Bodnar reported the regional 250th group is pursuing a joint PR contract at roughly $50,000 per town and that the unfunded shuttle plan is estimated at $850,000.
